Does your child like art, science, cooking or storytime? Sign them up for our Educational Classes with Joyce!
Students will spend 45 minutes improving their knowledge and skills in a fun and safe learning environment. Classes are for students age 2-5.
Now, classes are pay as you go - there is no obligation or registration fee, just sign up at the front desk and go! Parents are welcome.
Class schedule: ($10.00 per student per class)
Monday 11:15 a.m.- Noon - art/science
Tuesday 10:45 - 11:30 a.m. - cooking/art
Wednesday 10:45 - 11:30 a.m. - storytime (parent/child)
Thursday 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. cooking/science
Art
Learn how to paint a flower, an animal or a special scene. In the Arts and Crafts class many different themes are used. Cutting skills and color identification are exercised, and drawing skills are utilized to improve coordination and pre-handwriting. Students use color, texture and shaping for a well-rounded art class.
There will be something to take home everyday for students to show their families. Look at our windows as you drive by, Joyce is our artist and the students love her.
Cooking
Cooking with prepared food and cooking tips you will bring home what you made each day. Measuring, taste testing, mixing, and experimenting with different flavors, tastes and textures. Joyce has great experience with cooking and you'll love what you prepare and eat.
Science
Does your child like science experiments? Do they like to figure out how things work and why things happen? Observation, hypothesis, graphing the results and the conclusions are what students learn from Joyce in science class. There are a lot of hands on learning for your child to get involved and curious about science experiments and projects.
Physical Education Sports Skills and Drills
Joyce, a preschool gymnastic instructor and certified yoga teacher for children, applies her knowledge of soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball, baseball, track and field, and more in these classes. As each season approaches, a new sport will be introduced. Joyce has been a soccer coach for Monson, and has run our summer enrichment programs for four years. She s got what it takes to make it fun while learning great skills. Don t forget, the basis for all sports is gymnastics. Pair up a class of Skills and Drills with a gymnastics class first as a warm up and then on to sports skills with Joyce.
